Good news about Faridpur and Comilla becoming divisions

Desk Report:Md. Mokhles Ur Rahman, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Member Secretary of the Public Administration Reform Commission, said that it will be recommended to divide Faridpur and Comilla. He made this statement while exchanging views with journalists at the conference room of the Ministry of Public Administration at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

The senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration said, “We have recommended dividing Faridpur and Comilla after looking at the map of the entire country. If the government thinks so, it will divide them into 10 divisions.”

The members of the commission, including the head of the Public Administration Reform Commission, Abdul Mueed Chowdhury, were present at the time.

It is worth noting that the people of Faridpur and Comilla had been demanding separate divisions for a long time. The Awami League government decided to create separate divisions considering that if the divisions were separate, the people of these regions would not have to travel to Dhaka to get various services and Dhaka would be decentralised.
